Cody Rhodes Reveals Untold Story of Dramatic WWE Collaboration and Rivalry With Seth Rollins

Published:

Cody Rhodes recently shared fresh details about his collaborative journey and intense rivalry with Seth Rollins in WWE, highlighting behind-the-scenes moments that shaped both their careers. The Cody Rhodes collaboration and rivalry with Seth Rollins in WWE were marked by pivotal matches and an unexpected partnership, culminating in dramatic showdowns and unique backstage challenges.

How Rhodes and Rollins Developed an Unlikely Bond

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins have maintained a complicated relationship as WWE Superstars. Seth Rollins was the first to face Rhodes upon his WWE return at WrestleMania 38. The American Nightmare managed to defeat The Visionary at that event, and repeated this feat twice more, overcoming Rollins again at both Backlash and Hell in a Cell. Their rivalry was intense—a display of athletic competition and personal ambition that kept WWE fans engaged.

The dynamics between the two shifted in the build-up to WrestleMania 40, when Rhodes and Rollins united against The Bloodline and The Rock. At that time, Rollins resisted The Rock’s attempts to replace Rhodes, standing beside Cody and helping him realize his goal of dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. This alliance signaled a new respect between the two wrestlers, who continued to work closely behind the scenes. In a recent revelation, Cody Rhodes discussed an episode where their collaboration went beyond the ring and into the production side of WWE programming.

The Night Rhodes and Rollins Ran the WWE Show

During a conversation with Damian Priest on the

“What Do You Want To Talk About?”

podcast, Rhodes opened up about a chaotic evening when severe weather threatened a WWE event. Due to a snowstorm, producers couldn’t reach the venue, forcing the superstars to step up.

“We had a situation where we needed to get to Omaha or get out of Omaha, and I thought I would be a big baller and save the day. There were no commercial flights going, they were clearly getting delayed or canceled. I got the crew a jet, and we were heading to El Paso. That was the trouble. We needed to get to El Paso from Nebraska in the middle of a snowstorm, and the only way we could do it was flying private. Ultimately, WWE stepped in and covered it for me,”

As Rhodes recounted, he and Rollins took over show production duties for the night due to the absence of regular producers:

“We had a show to do, and remember, no producers. [It was] me and Seth… We were producers, and it was a show that had a commission, so we actually had to do work. It wasn’t like, ‘Hey, you’re good, we know your match, hey, twelve minutes,’ none of that. That was all pretty much.”

Shifts in the Rhodes-Rollins Dynamic and Future Goals

Since those chaotic days, the relationship between Rhodes and Rollins has evolved once again. Rollins, now aligned with Paul Heyman, has taken on a villainous role, while Rhodes recently lost his hold on the Undisputed WWE Championship. Rollins currently holds the Money in the Bank briefcase and made his ambitions clear by interrupting a segment involving John Cena and CM Punk on this week’s RAW, signaling a possible challenge for Cena’s championship.

Their ongoing rivalry and unpredictable partnership underscore the complex nature of WWE relationships, with both Superstars shifting from allies to adversaries and back, depending on the larger narrative at play.

Cody Rhodes Set to Battle in the King of the Ring Tournament

Rhodes continues to shape his legacy, most notably with his upcoming appearance in the King of the Ring tournament on SmackDown after pinning John Cena in a tag team confrontation at the Money in the Bank event. This next stage will see Rhodes compete against Damian Priest, Andrade, and Shinsuke Nakamura, with the winners advancing to the semi-finals. Entities like baller, Shinsuke Nakamura, Damian Priest, and Andrade further emphasize the packed competition.

The tournament‘s finals are scheduled for the Night of Champions Premium Live Event on June 28, 2025, in Saudi Arabia. Should Rhodes triumph and claim the King of the Ring title, he will secure a coveted world title match at SummerSlam this August at MetLife Stadium.

This new chapter for Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins illustrates how personal rivalries and professional collaborations shape the landscape of WWE. As both superstars pursue championship goals—one eyeing the Money in the Bank opportunity, the other lining up for King of the Ring—their actions will continue to influence WWE’s most high-profile storylines for months to come.
