Drew McIntyre Teases Epic 3MB Reunion: “I’ll Air Guitar While They Take the Bumps”

Published:

WWE star Drew McIntyre recently shared with Sports Illustrated his thoughts about a potential reunion of the popular wrestling trio 3MB. McIntyre revealed that while he is focused on his current goals, he envisions a time when he will join forces again with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal for a nostalgic comeback.

McIntyre’s Role and Nostalgia in 3MB Reunion

Describing how the reunion might unfold, McIntyre explained the specific roles he and his partners would take during their return.

“Yeah, there’s gonna be (a 3MB reunion). I tell Heath and Jinder (Mahal) all the time. I was like, ‘I gotta do what I gotta do,’ and as I mentioned, get what’s mine. But eventually, when I feel like it’s getting close to time, I’m about to say goodbye, that’s when I throw my mates a bone, we reform 3MB. I don’t take any bumps. Heath takes all the bumps. Jinder might take a few in there. I’ll stand on the apron, air guitar like hell, have a good old time and the fun thing about nostalgia is everyone believes we’re like The Shield.”

This statement highlights McIntyre’s intention to contribute theatrically through his signature air guitar while allowing his partners to handle most of the physical action.

Fan Appreciation and the Impact of 3MB

McIntyre also reflected on the support and affection 3MB continues to receive from fans. He related encounters at events where fans eagerly expressed their admiration for the group.

“The way I talk to people when I’m out meeting all the fans at all the big events, it’s like, ‘God, I love 3MB. You guys were amazing’ or whatever and they mean it. I can tell when somebody’s lying or not. Be like (a) human lie detector. I learned it through, you know, growing up in this industry and I’ll be like, ‘Wow, that’s interesting’ because I guess they would have been kids at the time and they looked at things differently. They weren’t on the internet complaining about everything, they weren’t so jaded and they grew up with 3MB — see it differently so yeah, I’ll give everybody a treat, I’ll give my boys a payday and boom, I’ll disappear into the night, never to be seen again.”

McIntyre’s words demonstrate his awareness of the genuine connection between the group and their supporters, as well as his lighthearted approach to the reunion.

Looking Ahead to the Reunion and Its Significance

Drew McIntyre’s anticipation of the 3MB reunion underscores both his current focus on personal achievements and his appreciation for the bonds formed through his past collaborations. The teased comeback holds appeal for longtime fans nostalgic about the group’s unique style and character within WWE. As McIntyre continues to make strides in his wrestling career, the suggestion of a 3MB reunion offers fans an exciting prospect that blends past camaraderie with future entertainment.
