Harley Cameron, currently excelling in AEW’s Women’s Tag Team Division alongside Willow Nightingale, recently reflected on her beginnings with the brief QTV faction. In an interview with Good Karma Wrestling, Cameron acknowledged the significance of QT Marshall’s role in launching her wrestling career.
Making the Most of Every Opportunity in Wrestling
Cameron recalled,
“I was very fortunate that QT Marshall gave me the opportunity to be in QTV because, essentially, that was my beginning…There’s an old saying, and cliché one, it’s, ‘There’s no small parts, just small actors,’ you know? That kinda mentality,”
highlighting how she viewed her initial exposure in QTV as a crucial stepping stone, even without knowing what the future held.
She continued,
“Even if I have one line and ten seconds, I have to make the most of it,”
adding,
“And I think that I’ve really kind of had that mentality ever since I was little, with performance in general, but definitely in wrestling.”
Cameron emphasized the importance of delivering a memorable performance regardless of the amount of time given, aiming to elicit a genuine response from the audience.
Combining Performance Art with Old-School Wrestling Discipline
Drawing from her background in performance art, Cameron maintains a traditional approach to wrestling, influenced heavily by her coaches Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze. She keeps a wrestling journal and dedicates time to rehearsing right before stepping into the ring, demonstrating her commitment to mastering the craft on multiple levels.
Significance of Early Experiences and Future Prospects
Cameron’s reflection on her start with QTV reveals the foundational mindset that has helped her grow into a Women’s AEW World Tag Team Champion. Her emphasis on seizing every opportunity and combining performance with discipline signals her ongoing dedication to evolving in AEW’s competitive scene. Fans and analysts alike will likely watch with interest as she continues to build on these roots alongside Willow Nightingale in the expanding women’s tag division.
