Jacob Fatu reveals rival‘s support as he navigates a heated feud with his former stablemates in WWE. Recently, Fatu competed against Solo Sikoa in a United States Championship Steel Cage match at WWE SummerSlam, where interference allowed Sikoa to keep the title despite Fatu’s strong showing.
Breaking Character: Behind-the-Scenes Help from a Rival
Jacob Fatu recently opened up about receiving unexpected assistance from his in-ring rival Solo Sikoa while trying to improve his promo skills. Known as The Samoan Werewolf, Fatu admitted that speaking confidently on the microphone was once his greatest challenge, especially since WWE’s restrictions differ from the independent wrestling scene, where cursing is more accepted.
“I didn’t expect anything. I just grew up to play my position, play my role, and do my thing. I never try to overstep on anybody or nothing. Talking was my weakest point. On the indies, we get away with cussing. I wasn’t comfortable in talking. Not at all,” he said.

After WWE allowed him more freedom to speak during promos, fellow wrestler Tama Tonga encouraged Fatu to be authentic in his delivery. Fatu also praised WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H for supporting his growth and revealed that Solo Sikoa has been a significant figure in helping him develop his mic skills.
“Then, they started letting me speak. I remember Tama telling me, ‘Just talk like yourself. Be yourself. Some of the stuff you’re saying, ain’t nobody saying your slang.’ Shout-out to Triple H. It started off small with a couple of lines here. Solo has actually been a big help on my promos. Everything you see me and Solo doing, he’s been more than helpful,” he added.

WWE Hall of Famer Supports Fatu Amid Controversy Over New Song
Outside of wrestling, Jacob Fatu attracted criticism for his use of the N-word in his recently released song Hello, which features WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, his real-life uncle. The backlash from some fans sparked debate, but WWE veteran Teddy Long defended Fatu in an interview on The Wrestling Time Machine podcast. Long highlighted the double standards in society regarding the use of such language in music.

“What’s wrong with that? Every rapper on this planet, all of them have used the N-word. I keep seeing so many people getting upset by the N-word, but as long [as] you’re making millions of dollars, everything is alright,” he said.
