Jade Cargill has revealed details about a serious neck injury that threatened to disrupt her WWE career just before her highly anticipated match at SummerSlam Night One. The injury, which forced her off WWE programming in late 2024, almost required surgery before she could return to the ring.
In a candid discussion on the Club 520 Podcast, the former Queen of the Ring winner explained how the injury impacted her physically and mentally during the months leading up to Survivor Series 2024.
The Impact and Recovery from the Neck Injury
Cargill clarified that although she did not suffer a tear, the injury was severe enough to consider surgical intervention.
I didn’t tear anything. It was more of a neck injury that could have led to surgery, but I didn’t need it,
she said.
Eventually, I will — like all wrestlers do — but thankfully, not yet.
This setback was the first major interruption in her otherwise steady wrestling career, which created significant mental strain. She admitted,
This was something that I had to sit out, and that was the first time — and that can mess with you mentally,
adding,
Because there’s nothing I can do. I can’t go out there to show you. I have to just take it, take it, take it.
Return to the Spotlight and Championship Opportunity
After a prolonged recovery, Cargill made a powerful comeback at Elimination Chamber 2025, greeted by one of the loudest ovations in her career.
That moment meant the world to me,
she reflected.
The crowd reaction — just knowing they didn’t forget me — that made it one of my favorite career moments.
Now fully healed and at peak condition, Jade Cargill is scheduled to face Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam Night One in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Her return and strong momentum have positioned her as the favorite to win her first main roster title, highlighting a dramatic comeback story from injury uncertainty to potential triumph.
