Jade Cargill reacts to Abadon’s AEW departure as star confirms shocking exit after four-year run

Published:

Jade Cargill reacts to Abadon’s AEW departure after the long-serving performer confirmed their exit from All Elite Wrestling, ending a four-year stint with the company. The news follows Abadon’s announcement that AEW would not be renewing their contract, closing a chapter for a wrestler known for a unique in-ring persona.

Abadon entered the AEW scene in 2020, gaining attention with a striking, spooky character and a hard-hitting wrestling style that quickly made an impact. Hailing from Colorado, Abadon was signed just months after their debut and went on to face various established competitors within the Jacksonville-based promotion. Their final AEW match took place at Worlds End 2023, where Abadon challenged Julia Hart for the TBS Championship but did not capture the title.

After that appearance, Abadon continued making their presence felt on Ring of Honor, an AEW affiliate, where they remained active into early 2024. Throughout this period, Abadon participated in several bouts, with appearances stretching up to February of this year. During their recent hiatus from televised wrestling, Abadon posted on social media to confirm their AEW departure, stating that the company had decided against renewing the contract.

How Jade Cargill Supported Abadon After the Announcement

The departure news prompted many reactions in the wrestling community, including Jade Cargill, the former TBS Champion and current WWE superstar. Cargill showed her support on social media by posting a heart emoji in the comments following Abadon’s announcement. Although these two never met in a singles match during their time at AEW, both took part in the Casino Battle Royal at All Out 2021, where they were in the ring together.

Abadon’s Recent Matches and Independent Appearances

Despite limited bookings with AEW lately, Abadon kept wrestling by competing in several matches for Ring of Honor, the promotion’s sister brand. Notably, Abadon faced Rachael Ellering in a February taping for ROH on HonorClub, securing a win. Beyond the AEW ecosystem, Abadon remained active on the independent circuit throughout 2024, earning victories against Remy D at LLL Potatoes and Drea at RWA Final Reckoning in March. The wrestler also defeated fellow former AEW talent Sonny Kiss at GCW Effy’s Big Gay Brunch in April, demonstrating continued momentum outside mainstream promotions.

As of now, the future for Abadon remains open-ended. Many are watching to see which direction “The Living Dead Girl” will pursue next, after leaving a memorable legacy both in AEW and on the wider professional wrestling scene.
