This highly anticipated Karrion Kross first SummerSlam match sees him face Sami Zayn, continuing their heated rivalry that has drawn significant attention from the wrestling community.

Karrion Kross Embraces His Debut at SummerSlam

WWE fans have expressed strong enthusiasm for Karrion Kross, who has steadily reestablished himself since returning to WWE in 2022. Despite limited exposure on major pay-per-view events, the popularity surrounding Kross has grown, prompting WWE to grant him a prominent spot at SummerSlam. This marks his first opportunity to showcase his talents on WWE’s big summer stage.

During an exclusive interview at a book signing for his autobiography Life Is Fighting in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Kross shared his excitement about the event. When asked whether he was most eager to defeat Sami Zayn or simply to compete at SummerSlam, he expressed enthusiasm for the entire experience:

“I’m looking forward to all of it. Really feels good to be in the swing of things, having singles matches on PLEs. People have wanted it for a long time. Now they got it. We’re here. This has been a crazy week. There’s a lot of things that have happened in my life that have brought me to today. You and I having this conversation right now, especially with this behind me, is surreal. Just taking it all in, really, man.”

“It’s been really good. People have been reading it in line and telling me how they felt about it. It’s been really, really positive. It’s been really good, and I think once we start getting out of this week and people get a chance to finish it, I think it’s going to be a whole other wave of that. But if they’re happy, I’m happy. It’s amazing, man.”

A Reflective Look at Kross’s Wrestling Journey and Advice to His Younger Self

Karrion Kross’ path through the wrestling world has been marked by challenges and triumphs, creating a foundation that has led him to high-profile rivalries like his upcoming match against Sami Zayn. His career trajectory reveals resilience and determination, characteristics he openly embraces when reflecting on his younger self.

Asked what guidance he would offer his past self, Kross emphasized staying true to the course without making changes, acknowledging that the journey may be difficult but ultimately rewarding:

“Don’t change. Don’t do anything different. This is going to be a rough ride on your way to where you’re going. But when you get there, it’s going to be all worth it. It’s not going to be what you thought it was going to be. I mean that as respectfully as possible. I’m sure some s***head pseudo writer is going to take what I just said out of context for clickbait revenue for a sensationalized headline, because that happens a lot to me. All the power to you, bud. But sometimes in life, it’s not what you think it’s going to be, and it’s not necessarily worse or better. It’s just something different. It’s just something different. And for me, that’s still very liberating. What I find out about people and what I find out about the world reflects in my own self-discovery. I think that’s been the biggest learning lesson out of my pro-wrestling journey and traveling the world and meeting everybody, meeting fans today, meeting people everywhere. That’s exactly what I tell him, and then I would hit him with a f****** chair.”

This honesty reveals Kross’s grounded mindset despite the high stakes of his career.
