After leaving WWE last year following his defeat to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam 2025, Karrion Kross has unveiled a radically different persona in the wrestling world. Known previously as the Herald of Doomsday, Kross now competes as The Blood King, making a strong impact outside WWE’s spotlight.
Since his departure, the 40-year-old veteran has been active and successful in Major League Wrestling (MLW), where he currently holds the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. Kross secured this title during MLW Battle Riot VIII by outlasting competitor Matt Riddle, marking a significant milestone in his post-WWE career.
Kross’s Career Highlights and WWE Tenure
During his years in WWE, Karrion Kross was a two-time NXT Champion, though he never managed to win any major titles on the main roster. He gained widespread attention with a viral promo at WrestleMania 41, which dramatically increased his popularity. Despite this, WWE did not capitalize on the momentum, and Kross’s contract expired without renewal, leading to his eventual exit.
Potential Return to Wrestling Promotions Discussed by Kross
In a recent interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Kross addressed possible plans for his future in wrestling, including a potential return to AAA, which WWE now owns. While Kross has maintained a strong relationship with AAA legend Konnan, the complicated new management structure presents uncertainties regarding any collaboration.
“I’m in constant contact with him. Always have been, always will be. And we’ve had discussions about potentially doing something, but there’s a new chain of command that has to go through. And I know that he would be interested to have us there, but that would probably depend on a lot of things in that place. So I told him, ‘Yeah, just keep me posted. Let me know. I’m always up to work with him in any capacity whatsoever. I trust him with my life,” he said. – Karrion Kross
Personal Connections and Future Speculation
Karrion Kross is married to former WWE wrestler Scarlett Bordeaux, adding an intriguing dynamic to the question of their potential comebacks. Fans remain curious whether either Kross or Bordeaux will reappear in WWE or make significant moves in other promotions as their careers develop.
Karrion Kross confirms his WWE release is NOT a work.
“No. No, I’m not answering questions today as a character.”
