Karrion Kross and his partner Scarlett have encouraged fans to repeat their popular chant after WWE chief content officer Triple H mistaken the fans’ “We Want Kross” chant for a call demanding the returning Brock Lesnar during the SummerSlam event. The confusion occurred at the historic two-night SummerSlam held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, when the crowd‘s chant was misheard, prompting Triple H to respond incorrectly.
During the SummerSlam post-show panel, Triple H, joined by Big E, Joe Tessitore, and Peter Rosenborg, addressed the crowd, believing they were calling for Brock Lesnar’s return. He replied to the chant by assuring them,
“You want Brock, you’ve got him.”
However, the consensus was that the fans were actually chanting for Karrion Kross.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett Respond to the Mix-up
Karrion Kross responded to the misunderstanding on social media with a pointed message highlighting the difference between scripted content and fan truth. On X, he wrote,
“Unreal. They write the scripts… But the fans write the truth. Thank you, Tick tock.”
Scarlett, his partner and valet, also joined in, urging the fans to make their voices heard once more, stating,
“If they didn’t hear it… say it again.”
The future of Kross and Scarlett in WWE is currently uncertain amid contract talks. Reports from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select indicated back in July that both wrestlers’ contracts were set to expire in August and that WWE had not yet approached them for renewals. Kross competed on the first night of SummerSlam but was defeated by longtime rival Sami Zayn, marking his third loss to Zayn, which could be his final WWE match if he departs after his contract ends. This loss came just a day before Brock Lesnar shocked audiences by returning to attack John Cena after a two-year absence.

WWE Legends and Hall of Famers Support Karrion Kross
The chant of “We Want Kross” is a familiar sound during WWE programming, especially on Monday Night RAW, where it echoes in arenas and even during backstage segments. This fan support is mirrored by wrestling legends and Hall of Famers who appreciate Kross’s talent and potential.
Diamond Dallas Page (DDP), a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, praised Kross and Scarlett as a dynamic team and predicted Kross’s eventual breakthrough. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, DDP said,
“Karrion Kross is one of the most talented, his beautiful wife, I mean they are a great team together. I can see that kid at some point getting that big break.”
Lex Luger, another wrestling veteran, also expressed agreement with DDP’s positive assessment.
John Bradshaw Layfield, a former WWE Champion known for his iconic heel persona, commended Kross’s savvy use of social media. Speaking in an interview on Something To Wrestle With, he remarked,
“It’s really unique what he’s doing, I admire what he’s doing… You can do so much with social media. I think you can hurt yourself — and I think a lot of guys do — or you can help yourself. And I think guys like Karrion are doing a wonderful job with that.”
He further added,
“He’s obviously a very smart guy, and I think he’s doing — I love what he’s doing. I think it’s fun. I don’t know where he’s going with it. I don’t know if he has a plan. I feel like he probably does, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens.”
Additionally, X-Pac, a former stablemate of Triple H in D-Generation X, encouraged support for Kross. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, X-Pac advised,
“He’s got all this talent, a hell of a look… Give him the ball. See how far he runs with it.”
Triple H’s Role and Kross’s WWE Future
Triple H was instrumental in Karrion Kross’s return to WWE in August 2022, bringing him back after his release during Vince McMahon’s tenure. Since then, Kross’s fan base has grown substantially, earning him high-profile singles matches at WWE’s premium live events. Despite this rise, his latest loss to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam has sparked rumors that Kross could leave the company once again if contract negotiations do not lead to a renewal.
With Brock Lesnar’s surprise return overshadowing much of the SummerSlam event, the “We Want Kross” chant remains a testament to Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s growing popularity. Their contract status and potential next steps are being closely watched by fans and industry insiders alike, highlighting the tension between WWE’s booking decisions and fan enthusiasm for these two performers.
