Former WWE wrestler Killer Kross, formerly known as Karrion Kross, has shared new details about his departure from WWE, disclosing that an important storyline involving him was canceled only a day before it was scheduled to begin. This abrupt change happened in the days following SummerSlam, where Kross and his wife Scarlett were removed from WWE programming after his loss to Sami Zayn.
Details of the Canceled Monday Night Raw Storyline
In an interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Kross explained that he was set to start a “really big” storyline on the Monday Night Raw episode following SummerSlam. However, the plans were unexpectedly dropped on the Sunday of the pay-per-view event, just 24 hours ahead of the planned debut. Kross shared,
The creative we were supposed to have on Monday Night Raw got killed on Sunday. The creative involved other people,
and added,
I would love to tell people that want to know, but that idea could still be salvaged for that other person involved, so I don’t want to jack up their creative talking about it. But it was something really big and it was something people would have enjoyed. I can tell you that right now. Maybe one day we can do that creative and we can revisit this conversation.
Impact on Kross’s WWE Career and Future Plans
The unexpected cancellation left Kross without a clear storyline path after SummerSlam, which led to his contract negotiations with WWE falling apart shortly thereafter. Reports indicate WWE gave him only 24 hours to finalize a new deal, which he ultimately declined. Currently a free agent, Kross has expressed interest in returning to WWE in the future but is actively working in the independent wrestling scene alongside Scarlett. The couple recently appeared unexpectedly at GCW Homecoming, and Scarlett has also confirmed plans to resume her in-ring wrestling career now that they are no longer under WWE contract.
Significance of the Scrapped Storyline
The disclosure of such a significant creative change adds important context to Kross’s sudden WWE exit and sparks curiosity regarding what the untold storyline might have entailed. This canceled narrative not only affected his career trajectory but also left fans wondering about the potential impact the storyline could have had on WWE programming. Kross’s comments suggest that the idea may be revived in the future, keeping the possibility open for further developments down the line.
