King of the Hill WWE SmackDown Crossover Set for August 15 – Don’t Miss the Texas-Sized Showdown

Published:

Disney Entertainment Television is teaming up with WWE to promote the return of the animated series King of the Hill through a special crossover on Friday Night SmackDown. Scheduled for August 15 in Boston, this unique event aims to bring the world of Arlen, Texas, directly into the live wrestling broadcast.

Integration of King of the Hill Elements into WWE Broadcast

The crossover will feature a variety of visible collaborations, including a custom wrestling mat emblazoned with King of the Hill branding. Digital creative visuals from the show will also appear around the arena, ensuring fans have an immersive experience throughout the event.

Beyond the set design, WWE stars Sheamus and Johnny Gargano will participate by producing videos inspired by scenes from the animated series. These videos will be shared widely on WWE and the wrestlers’ social media channels, connecting both fanbases.

Wide-Ranging Campaign Embracing Texas-Sized Partnerships

This crossover is part of a broad marketing effort by Disney Entertainment Television aimed at reigniting interest in King of the Hill. The campaign also includes partnerships with NASCAR, Whataburger, and Fortnite to generate buzz across different audiences.

It’s been 28 years since ‘King of the Hill’ premiered, so our team set out to build a bespoke campaign celebrating the show’s legacy and targeting viewers of the original series, while also making it feel fresh and modern for a whole new generation of fans,

said Shannon Ryan, President of Marketing at Disney Entertainment Television.

We wanted to go as big as Texas, so we focused on clever executions and bold partnerships that we felt would resonate and connect with fans of all ages,

Ryan added.

What to Expect and Where to Watch

The King of the Hill crossover episode will broadcast live on August 15 during Friday Night SmackDown, giving viewers a chance to experience this Texas-themed celebration firsthand. Meanwhile, the reboot of the series is already available for streaming on Hulu, offering fans both new and old a way to revisit Arlen anytime.
