WWE Superstar Kit Wilson recently spoke on Insight With Chris Van Vliet about their ambitious plan to create a Pretty Deadly musical. Wilson confirmed that the project is still in development, though its release date remains uncertain. They emphasized that fans should not lose hope, saying,
“Hey, the musical was big, and we had some big plans for that musical, and it’s still coming. Yeah, I don’t want people to riot. So it is coming, I just don’t know when.”

Development and Creative Direction Behind the Musical
The musical initiative is very much a genuine effort, with Wilson sharing that the team has prepared ten original songs along with fully written lyrics. The goal was to produce a polished and entertaining performance, embracing a playful yet edgy tone.
“We wanted to go full force with it, the celebration we did with Nia. I think, as characters, we were trying to find the line of being bad in a funny way, if that makes sense. We were trying to be annoying, obnoxious characters, but thought they were good at this kind of performance and celebrating our wonderful queen, Nia. But that was that.”
Wilson further explained that the project’s inspiration was partly drawn from the musical episode of Always Sunny in Philadelphia, incorporating a mix of humor and storytelling with involvement from several WWE colleagues backstage:
“We had songs written. We had lyrics written. We had a story. We were looking to find a place to perform it.”

Challenges of Fitting a Musical into WWE Programming
Wilson acknowledged the difficulties of including a full musical with ten songs within the regular WWE schedule, particularly during shows like SmackDown where time is limited. However, WrestleMania weekend offers more programming opportunities, opening the door for an additional show or a special theatrical performance.
“Well, here’s the thing: what we were originally aiming for, you can’t find the time on a SmackDown. But as we know, WrestleMania weekend is so big, we’ve got an extra show here. We’ve got an extra show there. We were trying to find a venue in a location to have a theater performance.”

Plans for a WrestleMania Musical Debut in London
Looking ahead, Wilson confidently announced that Pretty Deadly: The Musical is slated to make its debut when WrestleMania takes place in London. This suggests the team is targeting major WWE events for showcasing their creative project.

“Okay, all right, when WrestleMania is in London, Pretty Deadly: The Musical will debut.”

As fans eagerly await this unique blend of wrestling and musical entertainment, it’s worth noting that Kit Wilson has recently shifted focus to singles competition due to the sidelining of his Pretty Deadly tag team partner Elton Prince with a neck injury. The realization of this musical could provide a distinctive highlight during upcoming WWE events, potentially adding a new dimension to WrestleMania’s wide range of attractions.
