Lesnar vs. Oba Femi WrestleMania Match Not 100% Confirmed

Following the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on January 31 in Saudi Arabia, speculation has grown about several WWE Superstars’ appearances at WrestleMania 42, including the highly anticipated match between Brock Lesnar and former WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi. Fans have shown strong interest as the two prepare for a potential showdown, though the bout is not yet fully confirmed.

Details From Royal Rumble Highlight Oba Femi’s Performance

At the 2026 Royal Rumble match, Oba Femi impressed by tying with the eventual winner, Roman Reigns, for the most eliminations, lasting nearly 40 minutes before being eliminated by Brock Lesnar. Lesnar’s own stay was brief, ending soon after due to eliminations by Cody Rhodes and LA Knight. Despite this buildup, Dave Meltzer clarified in a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the Lesnar-Femi match remains uncertain for WrestleMania.

Meltzer Discusses Match Status On Wrestling Observer Radio

“That’s not 100% by the way,”

Meltzer noted.

“It should be, I agree it should be but it’s not…I had asked about a bunch of matches for Mania and most of them were correct as it turned out, including Roman Reigns and [CM] Punk, although that was very clear obviously. But the one that I was told that’s not–I mean it could happen, I’m not saying it’s not happening, I’m just saying that I was told that this one’s not 100%, that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match.”

Context Surrounding Lesnar and Femi’s WrestleMania History

If the match proceeds, it will mark Brock Lesnar’s first WrestleMania appearance since 2023, having missed WrestleMania 40 and 41 in 2024 and 2025 due to a lawsuit involving Janel Grant in which he was named. For Oba Femi, this would be a significant WrestleMania debut after recently defending the NXT Championship against Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans at the Stand and Deliver Premium Live Event held during the WrestleMania 41 weekend.

What This Could Mean for WWE’s Upcoming Event

The confirmation or cancellation of a Lesnar vs. Oba Femi match at WrestleMania 42 could influence the card’s overall excitement and fan engagement. While Brock Lesnar’s star power remains a major draw, Oba Femi’s rising status after notable performances poses a fresh dynamic. Fans and insiders alike await official confirmation as plans continue to develop. Updates from sources like Wrestling Observer Radio will be critical to follow in the coming weeks.
