WWE Veteran Slams Lyra Valkyria’s Promo Skills, Urges WWE to Step In Ahead of Evolution Showdown

Published:

A former WWE commentator publicly criticized Lyra Valkyria‘s promo work following a recent episode of Monday Night RAW, urging the company to assist her in improving her mic abilities. At 28 years old, Valkyria was involved in a heated segment with Bayley and Becky Lynch, the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion, setting the stage for their upcoming Triple Threat Match at the Evolution event.

During the show, Lynch addressed the WWE Universe before Bayley confronted her in the ring. Valkyria then entered, targeting both veterans with harsh words and claiming she would take the title from what she called “disappointments” at Evolution. Despite the strong message, her delivery on the microphone failed to resonate with some, including Jonathan Coachman, who voiced his concerns on social media.

Coachman expressed his frustration with Valkyria’s promo skills and highlighted the gap between her and the more experienced Bayley and Lynch.

“I don’t believe a thing Lyra says on the mic. I am begging WWE to start working with some of these talents on delivering promos. It has to go both ways, and Bayley and Becky are light-years ahead of Lyra. There are levels on the mic, and if you are going to be on RAW, you have to be at the highest level,” he wrote.

While Bayley and Lynch have gained years of promo experience, Valkyria is still developing in this aspect of her performance. WWE’s ongoing investment in her suggests that she has the potential to improve both her wrestling and mic skills, possibly reaching new heights in her career.

The Mic Battle Escalates Before Evolution

The verbal confrontation grew intense as Bayley recalled how Valkyria surrendered the Women’s Intercontinental Title to Lynch at the Money in the Bank event, expressing disdain for Valkyria’s attitude during that loss. This led to a physical clash among the three competitors.

Valkyria showed her toughness by landing a punch on Lynch and trading strikes with Bayley. She eventually used her Nightwing finisher to overpower both opponents, standing tall while holding the Women’s Intercontinental Championship as the segment closed.

Anticipation Builds Ahead of the July 13 Evolution Match

The conflict between these three women will culminate at Evolution, scheduled for July 13. Becky Lynch will defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against both Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a high-stakes Triple Threat Match, promising an intense showdown given the rivalry and animosity on display.

As Valkyria continues to work on her promo skills, this match represents an important opportunity for her to prove herself on a major stage, while fans and critics alike watch to see if she can rise to the challenge against seasoned veterans like Lynch and Bayley in both the ring and on the microphone.
