Remembering Jeff Foskett: Jeffrey Foskett, the renowned guitarist and singer hailing from San Jose with a distinctive falsetto, passed away at the age of 67, as reported on Monday. Foskett left an indelible mark on the music scene, notably contributing to the Beach Boys’ sound.
During the 1980s and ’90s, Foskett was a key member of Mike Love’s Beach Boys. He later transitioned to Brian Wilson’s solo band for over 15 years before rejoining the Beach Boys in 2015, as per Variety reports.
In a heartfelt social media post, Mike Love expressed, “God called one of his great ones home,” acknowledging Foskett’s humor, talent, charm, and genuine kindness that endeared him to everyone he met.
Raised in San Jose and a lifelong fan of the Beach Boys, Foskett’s journey eventually led him to become an integral part of the band. Brian Wilson, visibly saddened by the loss, reminisced on social media about Foskett’s unwavering support during tours, highlighting his exceptional musical leadership, guitar skills, and angelic singing voice. The two became friends in 1976, forging a lasting bond.

Foskett faced a battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer, a struggle he courageously shared on social media. In March, he marked a significant milestone of four years of treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center, completing a second round of radiation, a journey that allowed him to welcome his grandson.
Beach Boys member Al Jardine and his wife, Mary Ann, remembered Foskett for his beautiful spirit and zest for life. They praised his talent across various levels and credited his wonderful sense of humor for helping him navigate the challenges of the music industry. Foskett’s positive and hopeful nature, even in the face of adversity, left a lasting impact.
