WWE Star Calls Roman Reigns’ Infamous Segment the Absolute Worst

Published:

A WWE performer has labeled a notorious segment involving Roman Reigns as the worst of his career. Before becoming the dominant Tribal Chief, Reigns experienced a controversial phase as the heroic Big Dog, which included several extreme angles. One of these segments, in 2019, saw him endure a humiliating storyline with former WWE star Bishop Dyer, previously known as Baron Corbin.

During an episode of SmackDown, Corbin and Nic Nemeth, also known as Dolph Ziggler, restrained Reigns by handcuffing him to a ring post and pouring dog food over him. This angle culminated on January 31, 2020, when Reigns joined The Usos to face Corbin, Ziggler, and Bobby Roode in a match where the losing team was forced to eat dog food. Reigns’ team won, and they retaliated by tying Corbin to the ring post and drenching him in dog food.

Details from Bishop Dyer on the Painful Segment

Speaking on the Fightful Overbooked podcast In The Weeds, Bishop Dyer described the physical agony caused by the segment. He explained how being handcuffed and hung under the slippery conditions was excruciating.

“They handcuffed me to the post when we did that. They’re pouring dog food on me and everything, chili, and whatever else they had in that bowl, and I was hanging, but I was in the handcuffs, but I couldn’t get my feet under me because it was so slippery. So, I was literally hanging by the handcuffs. It was one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced because it felt like it was getting ready to cut my thumbs off,” he said.

He also recalled how difficult it was to get assistance after the cameras stopped rolling.

“We talk about Vin Diesel in Triple X; when he’s hanging by the handcuffs, I’m like, ‘Bro, I’m done. Shoot me, please.’ That was the worst. I was screaming at the stage people to help me because the show went off the air, and everyone was starting to move. I’m like, ‘Somebody pick me up.’ My thumbs are coming off,” he recalled.

Roman Reigns’ Current Break from WWE

Roman Reigns recently competed at Clash in Paris, facing Bronson Reed, also known as The Vision. Reigns won a tough match but was attacked afterward by Bron Breakker and The Aus-zilla. The group targeted Reigns, tying him to a stretcher and delivering several Tsunami moves.

WWE announced that Reigns is now on an indefinite hiatus to accommodate his role in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie, where he will portray the character Akuma. His break from wrestling allows him to focus on filming commitments.

This absence marks a temporary pause in Reigns’ wrestling storyline, with his recent attack written in to explain his time away from television.
