Sol Ruca on WWE Speed Status: “I Honestly Don’t Have an Answer Either” as Show’s Future Remains Unclear

Published:

The future of WWE Speed remains uncertain, leaving fans and talent alike in the dark, including current Speed Women’s Champion Sol Ruca. Since July 9, the weekly show that aired on X/Twitter has not released a new episode, with no official updates from WWE regarding its status or plans for resuming the program.

Sol Ruca Maintains Her Double Championship Amid Confusion

Sol Ruca, who holds the NXT Women’s North American Championship as well as the Speed Women’s title, confirmed she still considers herself a double champion despite the lack of clarity on Speed’s fate. Speaking to Ten Count Media, she acknowledged the ambiguity but emphasized her ongoing championship status.

“I’m definitely still a double champion,”

Ruca stated.

I am, you know, the Speed Champion and the North American Champion. I know there’s a little confusion about what’s going on. I honestly don’t really have an answer either. But until they tell me I’m no longer a double champion, I am still a double champion.

Potential Plans for the Speed Title Within NXT

Ruca hinted at possible future integration of the Speed Championship into NXT programming, suggesting WWE might be reconsidering the title’s role after the show’s suspension.

“Maybe we’ll start doing stuff on NXT with it,”

she said.

I mean, I was starting to wear it on NXT, which before wasn’t allowed because it was a separate — you know, technically a separate universe being on X. But I think there was a little bit of leeway, and now I think we’re just trying to figure out what we want to do with it. But, I mean, as of now, I’m still technically a double champion. So I’m not complaining.

Background on WWE Speed and Its Current Standing

Launched in April 2024, WWE Speed introduced a unique format featuring short, fast-paced matches with strict three to five-minute time limits. When the show ceased airing, El Grande Americano held the men’s Speed Championship, while Ruca remained the women’s champion. However, the show’s indefinite hiatus has stalled any further storyline or title defenses connected to Speed.

What This Means for WWE and Fans Going Forward

With WWE Speed’s future still unknown and no official announcements forthcoming, the uncertainty leaves championship holders like Sol Ruca in limbo. WWE’s next moves regarding the Speed brand and titles, especially whether they will be merged into NXT or retired, will be crucial for the ongoing careers of wrestlers associated with the show. Fans and industry observers are waiting closely for any updates that could clarify the direction of the Speed programming and its championships.
