Stephanie Vaquer Reveals Why She Failed WWE Tryout Years Ago

Published:

Stephanie Vaquer, currently one of WWE’s prominent stars and a former NXT Women’s World Champion, faced a significant hurdle early in her career when she failed to pass the WWE tryout in 2018. Although now acclaimed in the Stamford-based promotion, Vaquer’s initial attempt to join WWE did not go as planned, as she was not selected during her first tryout.

Reflection on Readiness and Growth After the Initial Tryout

During an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Vaquer explained that she was not prepared for WWE at that time. She acknowledged personal struggles and a lack of readiness, which ultimately contributed to the outcome. Following the tryout, Vaquer traveled extensively to train with top coaches worldwide and gained experience in diverse wrestling styles and companies, which helped her develop professionally.

Stephanie Vaquer Discusses Her Journey and Determination

Vaquer described her mindset at the time of her first WWE tryout:

“So I said, Okay, let’s do it. But I know I’m not ready. But, yeah, the thing happened for one reason, the important thing because there I say, I’m not ready, but I really know one day I go to WWE. So after the try-out, I travel all the planet. Learn more and different companies, different styles. I learn with the best coaches. So for me, after the try-out, I now I feel like, okay, this is over for me after the tryout. I say ok, I know now I know what I need to do, and one day I go to WWE. So seven years after, I’m here,”

Stephanie Vaquer said.

The Larger Impact of Vaquer’s Persistence

Stephanie Vaquer’s experience underlines the importance of preparation and perseverance in the demanding world of professional wrestling. Her initial setbacks and subsequent dedication have shaped her into a top performer in WWE, showing that early failures can be a catalyst for growth. This journey from failing a WWE tryout to becoming a champion may inspire other aspiring wrestlers facing similar challenges as they pursue their dreams.
