Tony Khan Hails AEW Collision as ‘Perfect Show’ Ahead of Dynamite

Published:

Tony Khan expressed strong satisfaction with the recent AEW Collision event held on Saturday, calling it a standout wrestling show. In an interview on The Battleground Podcast released Tuesday, Khan described the event as a

“really perfect wrestling show from top to bottom,”

highlighting it as possibly the finest AEW production yet at the 2300 Arena residency.

Khan further commented,

I thought Saturday’s Collision was one of the best shows of the entire year, start to finish. Really a perfect wrestling show top to bottom, I felt like. So, it’s a great way to go into Wednesday Night Dynamite with all this momentum.

Main Matches and Storylines at AEW Collision

The event featured significant matchups including Konosuke Takeshita versus Mark Briscoe, Jon Moxley facing Daniel Garcia, FTR taking on Tommy Billington and Adam Priest, plus a high-profile eight-woman tag team match. This final bout built anticipation for Toni Storm’s upcoming defense of the AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out, reinforcing key storylines heading into future shows.

Khan Reflects on Returning to the Historic 2300 Arena

The 2300 Arena in Philadelphia has special meaning to Tony Khan, marking his first return since witnessing an ECW event as a 13-year-old. Wearing an orange Taz T-shirt, Khan described the experience as “really cool,” especially having Taz involved with AEW as part of his team.

He shared,

Tomorrow’s show also finishes up a great 3-week stand in an arena in Philadelphia now known as the 2300 Arena, where Taz really broke through and became a top star nationally before he eventually signed and started wrestling on TV worldwide every week. And going back to Philadelphia where a lot of the fans love and respect Taz. There were so many of his fans from the ‘90s back in the building years later.

But I loved going back to the building. I hadn’t been there since I was 13 years old and it’s even more special to go back for AEW and to have Taz be a part of our team, it’s really cool.

Taz’s Hall of Fame Induction and AEW’s Future in Philadelphia

Separately, Taz was honored with an induction into the 2300 Arena Hall of Fame during a segment held last Wednesday that was not aired on Dynamite, honoring Taz’s wish to keep the spotlight on current wrestlers. This acknowledgment of Taz’s legacy adds to the significance of AEW’s ongoing presence at the historic venue, which continues to host major wrestling events and foster fan enthusiasm in Philadelphia.

Tony Khan’s reflections on AEW Collision, combined with the memorable matches and emotional return to the 2300 Arena, suggest continued strong momentum as AEW heads into future shows, particularly Dynamite and All Out.
