Trick Williams Reacts to WWE Call-Up: “It’s About Time”

Trick Williams, the former WWE NXT Champion, was recently promoted to WWE’s main roster after making a significant impact in the Yellow and Gold brand. Since his call-up, Williams has already made waves by confronting established star Randy Orton. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Williams shared his feelings about joining the same locker room as WWE’s top talents, emphasizing how meaningful this step is in his career.

Williams Expresses Relief and Readiness for Main Roster Challenges

Williams voiced his excitement about the promotion, saying,

“Man, it’s about time! You know what I mean? You know, you can’t cook your grits too long,”

on his main roster arrival. He described his journey as one filled with hard work and persistence, acknowledging the intense competition on both Raw and SmackDown.

“I was excited, man. I knew I worked very hard and, of course, I know it’s very competitive on ‘Raw’s’ roster and ‘SmackDown’s’ roster, but I felt like I fit like a glove.”

Williams added that he had been ready for this opportunity and was eager for fans worldwide to witness his talent.

“I couldn’t wait, and now we’re here.”

Inside the Call-Up Notification Process

When asked about how WWE informs wrestlers about their promotion, Williams described the experience as unexpected yet thrilling.

“You get a text message from a random number. ‘Congratulations! You are needed for creative!’”

he said. He also explained there’s an additional notification through an app that outlines the next steps.

“So, I was like: ‘I hope it’s real,’ you know what I mean? But yeah, you get a text message and then you get notified through an app, like: this is how we’re going to get you to the destination. And then, you off to the races!”

The Significance of Williams’ Promotion

Williams reflected on how long the call-up felt overdue, even joking about exploring other wrestling brands in the meantime, referring to his past with TNA. His elevation to WWE’s main roster signals a rewarding milestone after a demanding process and positions him for high-profile matches alongside names such as Randy Orton. The move highlights WWE’s recognition of Williams’ readiness and potential to contribute to both Raw and SmackDown rosters. Fans can expect to see more of Williams as he continues to establish himself in this competitive environment.
