Vegan Community Rallies Bullied Boy: In a heartwarming display of support, Australia’s vegan community stands behind a young boy who faced bullying from his school friends due to his vegan lifestyle. Angel Craine, a dedicated vegan mum, sent out invitations for her son Malachi’s birthday, only to be met with silence and taunts when he mentioned having a dairy-free cake at his Pokémon-themed party.
Taking to the Vegans in Australia Facebook group, Ms. Craine shared her concerns, stating that her four-year-old son often faces bullying for his vegan choices. She further extended an open invitation to local vegan families willing to attend Malachi’s fifth birthday, seeking to make the day special for her son.
The response was overwhelming, with 12 children from the vegan community committing to attend Malachi’s birthday party at the end of October. Even those living at a distance expressed their support with cards and gifts.
Ms. Craine expressed her son’s excitement at making new friends who share his interests and ethics and praised the compassionate nature of the vegan community.
Despite the bullying, Malachi remains resilient in his vegan beliefs and love for animals. His mother, Ms. Craine, has taken a stand against the issue but notes that the situation at school hasn’t improved. This story sheds light on the strength of a young boy’s convictions and the unwavering support of the vegan community.
