WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027, marking the first time this flagship WWE event will be held outside North America, confirmed by WWE’s chief content officer, Triple H. This announcement follows earlier confirmation from Saudi sports promoter Turki Alalshikh and highlights the growing partnership between WWE and Saudi Arabia.
Since December 2018, WWE has regularly hosted events in Saudi Arabia, including the recent Night of Champions in June and the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view live event slated for next year. Fans in Saudi Arabia can now anticipate WrestleMania joining these major shows on their calendars.
Triple H stated,
We are proud to announce that in 2027 WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This event is expected to be the largest WrestleMania ever, coinciding with Saudi Arabia’s 300th anniversary celebrations. Although it is the first Mania outside North America, it will be the third held outside the United States after WrestleMania VI and WrestleMania X8 took place in Toronto’s SkyDome in 1990 and 2002.
Saudi Arabia’s determination to host WrestleMania stems from a strengthened collaboration with WWE, including the launch of WWE Experience in Riyadh’s Boulevard City earlier in 2024. Rumors suggest WWE may call on wrestling legends such as The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to return for this landmark event. Saudi Arabia intends to make WrestleMania 43 a historic and grand spectacle, without financial limitations.
Possibility of WrestleMania Moving to Europe After Saudi Arabia
The announcement drew participation from key WWE figures alongside Triple H, including Hall of Famers The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, who hold creative positions. Present were also top superstars like World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Bianca Belair, Stephanie Vaquer, Charlotte Flair, and the injured Liv Morgan, underscoring the importance WWE and Saudi Arabia place on bringing WrestleMania to the Middle East.
This move may signal a new era where WrestleMania becomes more international, no longer confined to North America. Turki Alalshikh is not the only international figure keen on hosting the event; UK interest has been growing, with speculation rising around Wembley Stadium as a potential venue. London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, confirmed the city’s enthusiasm for hosting WrestleMania last year.
WWE aims to surpass AEW’s record attendance of 81,035 from Wembley Stadium. France also emerges as a promising future host due to the immense success of the recent Clash in Paris pay-per-view event, which was noted for its unique setup and famously loud crowd.
