WWE NXT Returns to Detroit, Columbus & Cleveland for October Shows

Published:

WWE’s NXT brand is set to return to the road in October, announcing three live event dates in Ohio and Michigan. The shows will take place in Columbus, Cleveland, and Detroit, marking NXT’s first visits to these cities in over five years. These WWE NXT October live events aim to reconnect with fans beyond Florida, where the brand often holds its tours.

Historic Returns to Columbus, Detroit, and Cleveland

The upcoming schedule is notable as Columbus and Cleveland last hosted NXT live events on consecutive nights in early March 2020. Detroit, meanwhile, has not seen an NXT event since 2010, when the show was still billed as a reality competition series. The final Detroit taping from that era featured matches including AJ Lee and Primo teaming up against Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn. This marks a significant return for NXT to a city absent from its itinerary for over a decade.

Although NXT frequently tours across Florida, the October events will be the brand’s first non-televised shows outside Florida since a July event in Houston. Recently, NXT has also visited South Carolina for two live events, underscoring its gradual expansion beyond its home base.

Talent and Special Appearances Highlight the Shows

The Cleveland event will showcase NXT stars like Oba Femi, Sol Ruca, and Tony D’Angelo. Additionally, The Agora Theatre has promoted that there will be special appearances by WWE’s Monday Night RAW and SmackDown superstars, although these were not officially confirmed by WWE in their announcement. Alongside the local talent, other wrestlers expected to appear include NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page, and TNA Champion Trick Williams.

Ticket Sales and What to Expect Next

Fans can purchase tickets for all three events beginning Wednesday, September 10, at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, with a special presale starting the day before on Tuesday, September 9, at the same times. These events are anticipated to bring renewed excitement to the Midwest wrestling communities and represent WWE NXT’s continued efforts to expand its live event presence beyond Florida.
