Biden Motorcade Involved in Collision: Unexpected Road Bump

Biden Motorcade Involved in Collision: As President Biden left his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, an unexpected incident unfolded. A car, unintentionally, collided with an SUV in his motorcade, leading to visible damage on both vehicles. The US Secret Service quickly confirmed that the crash was not intentional, stating there was no protective interest associated with the event.

The collision occurred around 8:09 p.m., and the impact caused a loud bang on the street. President Biden, startled by the commotion, looked over to assess the situation. Despite the unexpected turn of events, the Secret Service managed the situation efficiently. The silver sedan responsible for the collision was surrounded by Secret Service personnel, instructing the driver to put his hands up.

Notably, the affected SUV was not the president’s vehicle. The Secret Service escorted President Biden to his car, where First Lady Jill Biden was already inside. The motorcade, after addressing the situation, departed without further incident.

This incident took place amid heavy rainfall in Wilmington, possibly contributing to the conditions leading to the collision. The Bidens had been at the president’s 2024 campaign headquarters, engaging with staff during a holiday happy hour. It marked a significant visit, being the first time President Biden had been to the Wilmington office since staffers began working there over the summer. Despite the unexpected encounter, the president continued with his schedule, emphasizing the resilience and adaptability in navigating unforeseen situations.
