Cody Rhodes Names WWE Next Stars to Watch: Dominik Mysterio and Rising NXT Talent Spotlighted

Published:

Shortly before WWE SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes discussed the future of wrestling on The Bill Simmons Podcast, highlighting some of WWE‘s most promising new athletes. Rhodes emphasized the potential of upcoming performers, particularly noting Dominik Mysterio and several rising stars within WWE’s NXT brand, illustrating his belief in the evolving talent pool within the company.

Rhodes Highlights Women and Young Talent Training at the Nightmare Factory

Rhodes remarked on the growing number of women entering the wrestling profession, noting that more women are currently training than men. At his own facility, the Nightmare Factory, he monitors the development of aspiring wrestlers, signaling a focus on nurturing new talent from the ground up. He particularly recognized the skill and presence of Rhea Ripley, aligning with host Bill Simmons’ praise of her impact in WWE.

Dominik Mysterio: A Star Already Making His Mark

When discussing current WWE figures, Rhodes singled out Dominik Mysterio as a major star in the making, stating,

“Dominik Mysterio will end up becoming a massive star; he already is.”

He elaborated on Mysterio’s unique connection with fans and the learning opportunities he has through close work with his father, Rey Mysterio, whom Rhodes described as an unparalleled example in wrestling.

“But Dom has a connection with the audience, and the work is coming. It’s this kind of reverse the work is coming, He also works with people that are really his father is the greatest example. When you’re around people like that, you learn things that no one can teach you, right? And other than someone who is I don’t want to use the over word but someone who’s extremely popular, someone who’s over… So Dom is someone definitely to look out for in terms of specialness.”

Emerging WWE NXT Stars Poised for Breakout Success

Alongside Mysterio, Rhodes drew attention to several promising names rising through WWE’s NXT brand. He expressed enthusiasm about their talent and readiness for the spotlight, saying,

“I mean, if you look at NXT, Oba who’s coming up. Oba’s really special. Ricky Starks, Ethan Page he’s another one that, if you meet Ethan Page, he could be 50 or he could be 25. He’s got a really unbelievable skill set. That’s what I like the most about WWE currently if someone was to move or go, we’ve got people ready. We’ve got people ready.”

The Future of WWE’s Talent Landscape

Cody Rhodes’ insights underline WWE’s depth of emerging talent and the firm foundation being established through dedicated training and experience. With established stars like Dominik Mysterio and upcoming NXT performers gaining momentum, the company appears well-positioned to sustain its competitive edge in professional wrestling. This focus on cultivating talent will likely shape WWE’s roster dynamics in the months and years ahead, especially as new stars prepare to take center stage at major events such as SummerSlam.
