Feds fine Ship Company Slapped with Million Dollar :  A foreign shipping company was fined millions for dumping rubbish near California’s shore. A global shipping firm was fined millions to stop environmental harm. The corporation threw trash and bilge water into the ocean of California, which was rude. After discharging oily bilge water into the marine ecology, Hamburg, Germany, and Singapore-based Zeaborn Ship Management paid a $2 million penalty. Dirty water, lubricants, grease, cleaning chemicals, and pollution poison oily bilge water.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated the business admitted to dumping more than 7,500 gallons of bilge water from the Star Maia on at least four occasions between June and October 2022. The contaminated item was thrown away without pollution-prevention measures, but the paperwork indicated it had been cleaned. The corporation also admitted to burning paper, plastic, and dirty rags on the ship’s deck and dumping the barrels into the water without writing down what it did, as required by law. The corporation says it did this to avoid fines for breaking the law.

Zeaborn is guilty of two felony offenses of the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships for harming the environment. The head engineer and company captain blamed themselves for environmental offenses.
