Google YouTube Interface Gets a Makeover: When Google updates YouTube’s appearance, it’s like scratching an itch. Google Maps receives helpful updates, while YouTube’s changes often confuse users. The web version now has rounded corners, a new change. This will alter the appearance of images and video player. Most YouTube comments have been negative, which is unfortunate.
This change is coming to the YouTube app for Android. Android Police discovered this. Users will see a brighter white background, prompting them to switch to the Dark style for a more comfortable experience. On Android, users can enable a Dark theme in the YouTube app by tapping their profile picture, going to Settings > General > Appearance, and selecting the desired composition.
It’s important to note that the change from square to rounded corners will impact pictures and the Android app’s video player. The update has yet to be sent to many devices, including the Pixel 6 Pro with Android 14 Beta 5.3.
The corners are not rounded when watching a movie on YouTube in full screen or Theater mode. They reappear when you return to the Default view. Google hasn’t specified the timing of this change for additional Android devices. It’s unclear if Google will add smooth edges to the iOS version of the YouTube app in the future.
You can download the YouTube app for Android from the Google Play Store. iOS users can download the game from this link. Google often updates the appearance of YouTube, which captivates and occasionally confuses users.
