Roman Reigns, who was attacked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed during Clash in Paris last month, has been seen in public for the first time since the incident, signaling that he is recovering well. Reigns appeared in Australia at a birthday celebration for Street Fighter director Kitao Sakurai, where he looked noticeably better than during the attack on August 31. The event was a joint party for both Kitao Sakurai and Sanu.
Roman Reigns Balances Acting Role with WWE Hiatus
Following the attack, Roman Reigns was removed from WWE programming to allow him to travel to Australia and begin filming for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, where he portrays the character Akuma. Alongside him, Cody Rhodes has also been filming in Australia, playing the role of Guile. Rhodes missed the Clash in Paris event because of his shooting schedule and due to the recent birth of his second daughter with wife Brandi Rhodes. He has since returned to WWE television, interrupting Drew McIntyre’s attack on Randy Orton and setting up a match for Wrestlepalooza scheduled for September 20.
WWE Places Roman Reigns on Extended Medical Leave
WWE has officially confirmed that Roman Reigns will be on an indefinite break following the attack, with no set date for his comeback. This break coincides with a shift in WWE’s storyline focus towards other top stars like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Cody Rhodes, and AJ Lee, allowing Reigns some time to rest and recuperate. He is expected to miss the upcoming Wrestlepalooza event and will likely not appear at Crown Jewel in Australia next month. However, insiders believe Reigns is targeting a return in time for Survivor Series WarGames, ensuring his presence at one of WWE’s major events later this year.
