SJPD Breakthrough: Robbery and Attempted Murder Case

SJPD Breakthrough: Today, the SJPD caught four people linked to a July 4 robbery and attempted murder. On that tragic day, shots were fired in the 3300 block of Shadow Park Place, injuring an adult man. The SJPD arrived promptly and secured the crime scene. The victim was caught in an armed robbery planned by suspects who escaped.

The SJPD Robbery Unit officers were determined to find justice and searched carefully. Their hard work paid off with four individuals: Marco Gurrola (27), Jakei Matthews (25), Mykah Gurrola (20), and Erika Montes-Padilla (29). The SJPD stated that arrests were made promptly, and search warrants were obtained for each suspect’s residence.

By July 31, VCET arrested Marco Gurrola. Two guns were seized during the arrest, strengthening the case against him. He faces charges of gun possession, attempted murder, and armed robbery, so he’ll be held in Santa Clara County Main Jail.

The other suspects were caught the next month. Jake Matthews and Mykah Gurrola were caught on Sept. 5. One was in San Jose, the other in Milpitas. Erika Montes-Padilla was also arrested in Cupertino. Now, all four are in jail with Marco Gurrola. They face the exact charges as him: attempted murder and armed robbery.

While the charges are a positive step, the investigation continues. The SJPD is seeking more info from the public. Detective Marte in the Robbery Unit is ready to gather any helpful information.
