Sol Ruca, the reigning NXT Women’s North American Champion and Speed Champion, disclosed her unexpected role at WrestleMania 39 during a recent appearance on The A Show on RNC RADIO. At the event, she served as the costumed ‘Cinnamoji’ mascot during the match between Rey and Dominik Mysterio, a fact not widely recognized by fans at the time. The mascot was part of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch sponsorship, appearing ringside and interacting with the wrestlers.
As Rey Mysterio entered the ring, he was met by a towering Cinnamoji mascot who shook his hand—this mascot was, in fact, Sol Ruca. Though she had previously admitted to being inside the costume, many followers remained unaware. Ruca found humor in the ongoing surprise and how this moment has become part of her personal story.
I love that that resurfaces every once in a while,
Sol Ruca said.
Everyone’s like, ‘Oh my God, that was her?’ Like, I literally posted it on my Instagram, but it’s so funny that it still resurfaces.
The Story Behind Sol Ruca’s Selection as the Cinnamoji
Sol Ruca described how she landed the role while attending a tryout in town. The organizers needed a female performer around 5’9” tall, and she fit the criteria perfectly. When asked if she wanted to take on the Cinnamoji part, she accepted enthusiastically. In the days leading up to WrestleMania 39, she spent time backstage and at catering, rehearsing her movements in the mascot suit and practicing walking down the ramp.
On show day, Ruca recalled shaking hands with Rey Mysterio while in the bulky suit, a challenge in itself since fans near the barricade reportedly shouted that they couldn’t see through the large costume. Backstage, she took selfies in disguise, surprising those around once she revealed her identity by removing the costume.
But yeah, it was so crazy, being in that environment and being so close to the ring, seeing how many people were there and having a moment with Rey Mysterio. It was just so cool.
What This Moment Means for Sol Ruca’s Career
Sol Ruca’s revelation sheds light on her diverse involvement in WWE events beyond wrestling, highlighting her willingness to contribute in unique ways to major shows like WrestleMania 39. This story enriches her growing legacy within NXT, as she builds a profile both inside the ring as a champion and behind the scenes in unexpected roles. Fans who follow her career gain a new perspective on her multifaceted talents and presence in WWE’s evolving entertainment landscape.
