WWE 2K26 Roster, Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania Challenge Revealed

With the release of WWE 2K26 just over two weeks away, 2K Sports has revealed the complete list of playable wrestlers featured in the new game. The roster includes more than 400 WWE superstars from both current talent and all-time legends, such as CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, and John Cena. This extensive lineup aims to offer a broad selection for gamers eager to simulate WWE action.

In a departure from previous years, the game’s downloadable content strategy has changed. Instead of issuing traditional DLC packs throughout the year, new character collections will be released via the Ringside Pass. Players can also access a free bundle containing 40 unlockable characters, including groups from NXT, the Eighth Wonder of the World collection, and the Hart Foundation pack. The premium add-ons will feature wrestlers from AAA, like El Hijo Del Vikingo and Mr. Iguana.

CM Punk is showcased as the cover athlete for the first time since WWE ’13. WWE 2K26 will be available on March 13 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows platforms. Those who pre-order special editions of the game will gain early access starting March 6.

AJ Styles Set for WWE Hall of Fame Induction, Cena May Be Inductor

Following the announcement that AJ Styles will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend, speculation is mounting over who will perform the honors. WWE is reportedly interested in having John Cena induct Styles, given their storied rivalry and history. Although no formal agreement has been confirmed, it remains plausible if Cena’s schedule permits.

John Cena recently signed on for a Netflix film titled One Attempt Remaining, starring alongside Jennifer Garner and Kate McKinnon, though filming dates remain uncertain. Cena and Styles have faced off in numerous memorable matches, including a notable encounter at Crown Jewel during Cena’s retirement tour last October.

Following Styles’ loss to Gunther at the Royal Rumble, Cena publicly congratulated him, recognizing his outstanding career. The recent episode of Raw held in Atlanta, close to Styles’ Gainesville high school, culminated with a retirement ceremony for Styles and a surprise announcement that The Undertaker would join the 2026 Hall of Fame class. In addition to Styles, Stephanie McMahon is also confirmed as an inductee for this year. WWE is expected to announce the specific date for the ceremony soon, with expectations it will occur on April 17, the night before WrestleMania 42.

Possible Multi-Participant WrestleMania Title Match for Drew McIntyre

The upcoming Elimination Chamber event appears poised to determine the next challenger for Drew McIntyre’s undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42, but sources suggest multiple wrestlers might be included rather than just one. According to WrestleVotes, the favored scenario is a five- or six-pack challenge for the title involving McIntyre.

Cody Rhodes stands out as the front-runner since he will compete in the Elimination Chamber match that guarantees the winner a WrestleMania title shot. Other names currently being discussed include Jacob Fatu, Aleister Black, and Sami Zayn.

Jacob Fatu seems a likely addition given his ongoing feud with both McIntyre and Rhodes since returning from injury in early January. Aleister Black recently scored a major victory over Randy Orton, with assistance from McIntyre, who struck Orton with the championship belt during the match. This win marks one of Black’s most significant moments since coming back to WWE last year.

The uncertainty surrounding the title match storyline suggests WWE’s creative team may be grappling with a compelling direction for the SmackDown men’s title. The recent controversial promo between CM Punk and Roman Reigns following the Royal Rumble lends credence to a potentially wide-ranging title scene. The creative approach may ultimately involve several key contenders to heighten intrigue, with final decisions expected by the end of Saturday’s Elimination Chamber event. This will accelerate the build-up to WrestleMania and clarify the championship picture moving forward.

Impact on WWE’s Biggest Event and Gaming Community

The comprehensive WWE 2K26 roster announcement, combined with the evolving WrestleMania championship narrative featuring Drew McIntyre, signals a pivotal moment for both fans and gamers. For the gaming community, the diverse lineup and new DLC structure suggest a fresh and engaging experience on March 13. Meanwhile, the potential for a multi-competitor WrestleMania title match adds tension and excitement as WWE’s storylines head toward their climax.

With the Hall of Fame inductions introducing revered figures like AJ Styles and The Undertaker, WrestleMania weekend promises to be a deeply memorable event. The involvement of John Cena as a possible inductor ties together WWE’s present and past stars, enhancing the significance of the ceremony. Across the board, these developments reflect WWE’s commitment to blending legacy with ongoing rivalries, ensuring fans remain captivated in the lead-up to WWE 2K26’s launch and WrestleMania’s marquee showdown.
