Mike Pence Supports Special Counsel: Former Vice President Mike Pence is glad Attorney General Merrick Garland hired a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden. Garland confirmed this Friday. U.S. Attorney David Weiss will handle it. He’s long investigated President Joe Biden’s son.

Friday at the Iowa State Fair, Pence told reporters, “I think it’s time to name a special counsel.” “I believe the time is right.” “Not just look into what Hunter Biden did, but also what the rest of the Biden family did,” she continued. “Not just look into what Hunter Biden did.” He then claimed the American people deserved answers, implying he supported the decision.

Hunter Biden settled Weiss’s five-year investigation’s tax and weapons allegations with prosecutors. Last month, Republican Congressmen scuttled the accord in court.

Pence also spoke about his son’s military career. “I have to say I don’t fully understand what his kids did while he was vice president,” Pence remarked. I don’t understand his kids’ actions. “While I was in that position, my son was in the Marine Corps, flying an F-35 and keeping a constant level of watchfulness for the safety of our country.”

Governor Kim Reynolds spoke with Pence at the Iowa State Fair. Reynolds invited all Republican presidential contenders to this interview-style sit-down. Former President Donald Trump is the lone contender not present.

Pence stated, “I’m sure that anyone who misses a chance to talk to Governor Kim Reynolds is giving up a valuable chance, which is like not participating in a heated debate.”

Trump recently criticized Reynolds for not endorsing him for president in 2024. Reynolds abstains from the 2024 presidential election. Trump has not confirmed his attendance at the first Republican primary debate in Milwaukee later this month.

Pence and Grassley toured the Iowa Pork Producers Tent. Talking to fairgoers, they ate pork sandwiches. Grassley, a conservative Republican, supported a special counsel for Hunter Biden. Grassley said he and other Republicans initially advocated for Weiss’ special counsel privileges in September.

Grassley now doubts Weiss’ suitability for the job. The senator told Weiss that he was unhappy he wasn’t using Grassley’s information, such as a contentious and unsubstantiated FBI dossier concerning Ukrainian business people allegedly bribing Hunter Biden.

Delaware-born Weiss. Since former President Donald Trump appointed him U.S. attorney, he has court experience. Grassley believes the special counsel should pursue all leads and keep the process transparent.

“Appointing this person shouldn’t slow down the investigation by Congress,” Grassley added. “We know this administration is full of partisan bias, which means that Democrats and Republicans get different treatment.”

Garland explained that Weiss’ Tuesday request made him a special counsel. Weiss claimed his study warranted continuing as a special counsel. Weiss will report to Garland on possible charges after this investigation. Garland said the Justice Department would share as much Weiss’ report as feasible. Mr. Weiss’s employment showed the department’s commitment to independence and responsibility in delicate situations
