Seth Rollins’ recent injury during WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event has disrupted key plans for his heel faction, which was gaining momentum on Monday Night RAW. To keep the group’s push alive, Paul Heyman is considering appointing a 40-year-old rising star as the new leader, stepping in for the sidelined Rollins on WWE’s flagship show.
Paul Heyman may hand leadership to Karrion Kross, a two-time NXT Champion who has generated significant fan support in recent months. Kross is scheduled to face Sami Zayn once again this week on RAW, in what is likely the conclusion of their ongoing rivalry. This fresh leadership could breathe new life into the faction and set up exciting new storylines.
The prospect of Karrion Kross leading the faction also opens the door to potential alliances with other WWE talents, such as Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, who might assist Kross in defeating Zayn. This could effectively incorporate Kross, known as The Herald of Doomsday, into the stable. There is also a past unresolved tension between Kross and Roman Reigns dating back to 2022, when Kross reappeared and symbolically challenged the leader of the faction, The Tribal Chief, by placing his signature hourglass in front of him. While that confrontation went nowhere, it could gain new meaning under Heyman’s direction if Kross assumes command of the group.
Though this storyline remains unconfirmed and speculative, it offers a plausible direction for Paul Heyman’s faction following Seth Rollins’ injury, and it may lead to a fresh feud with Roman Reigns as WWE builds toward SummerSlam 2025.
Rollins Plans to Attend WWE SummerSlam Despite Injury
On The Rich Eisen Show, Seth Rollins shared that he might be present at SummerSlam 2025, even while sidelined with his current injury. Rollins highlighted that his wife, Becky Lynch, is defending her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria at this major event, and he hopes to support her in person if travel restrictions allow.
“To be fair, I might be there. My wife is wrestling Lyra Valkyria for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. So, we’ll see, depending on how this goes. If traveling is easy enough, I might make my way out to … We’re at MetLife. We’re outside New York, New Jersey, for two nights, SummerSlam in August. So, we’ll see,” Rollins said.
Rollins’ possible appearance keeps fans anticipating how his faction’s storyline will evolve with Paul Heyman overseeing a new direction during Rollins’ absence. The WWE creative team, led by Triple H, is likely developing backup plans to maintain the heel stable’s prominence on RAW over the coming weeks.
