WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has dominated the women’s division on Friday Night SmackDown for more than 200 days. In the midst of her ongoing storyline, she was recently seen breaking character while interacting with Nia Jax, a significant figure in her current WWE feud.
Nia Jax played a pivotal role in Tiffany Stratton’s progression on the main roster after guiding The Buff Barbie during her early days on SmackDown. However, their alliance deteriorated when Jax began showing disrespect toward Stratton over the following months. In January 2025, Stratton cashed in her Women’s Money in the Bank contract against Jax—known in the ring as The Irresistible Force—and claimed the WWE Women’s Championship.
Although their paths diverged for some time, the rivalry reignited recently on SmackDown. The tension between them remains high, as evidenced by an Instagram Story posted by CM Punk, featuring Stratton breaking character alongside Jax during a live event. This public glimpse indicates the complexity of their feud beyond the scripted competition.
Both women continue to be key figures on SmackDown, with Stratton teaming up with Jade Cargill to secure a victory over Nia Jax and Becky Lynch in a recent tag team match. This win further solidifies Stratton’s position as a dominant champion while intensifying her rivalry with Jax.
The Fallout from Tiffany Stratton’s Comments on Charlotte Flair
Following the ongoing storyline with Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton found herself in a high-profile feud with Charlotte Flair, who was announced as her challenger for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 41. During the buildup, Stratton stirred controversy by unexpectedly referencing Flair’s past failed marriages in a promo, crossing a personal line.
Stratton later publicly apologized for the comment and discussed the incident during an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast. She explained that the heated exchange stemmed from the competitive nature both she and Flair possess, which led them to go off script during the segment.
“Charlotte Flair is Charlotte Flair. She is a legend, and I was the champion at the time. Things were heated, and she is very competitive. I’m also very competitive, and I’m trying to prove to Charlotte that I can go, that I can stand up to her, and I’m worthy of this title. So yeah, s**t got heated, we both went off script. It happens. I did have to apologize, and that was that. I’m someone that can like, fully embrace being in the wrong, and I had no problem apologizing,” said Stratton.
Following this incident, Stratton moved forward and successfully defended her title by defeating Jade Cargill at WWE SummerSlam 2025. She is currently awaiting the announcement of her next challenger, as her reign and rivalries continue to shape the direction of the women’s division on SmackDown.
